He Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Environment Area, has concluded the fourth edition of the educational program of the environmental center of La Tahonilla, which has had the participation of more than 500 schoolchildren of the Island during the 2017/2018 academic year.
The vice president and insular councilor, José Antonio Valbuena, explained that the purpose of this initiative, carried out by the Biodiversity and Environmental Education units, is to publicize the work carried out in these facilities and to awaken the students' interest in the natural heritage that characterizes the Island.
The insular program, aimed at students of 5th and 6th grade of Primary, Secondary and High School, has included a tour of the facilities of the nursery and the wildlife recovery center of La Tahonilla, as well as recreational activities related to the uniqueness, wealth and importance of Canarian biodiversity.
