Connect the primary sector with tourism, enhancing the local product and making the farmers market of the San Lorenzo Valley known is the priority objective of the initiative of the municipal area of economic promotion to take the places of this infrastructure for the different nuclei of Arona.
In this way, the tourist center of Los Cristianos became today an agricultural sales point with the installation of a series of posts, among farmers, breeders, bakers and artisans, which offered from the early hours of the morning up to 13: 00, its products, which can be purchased both between the resident population and the visitor. The initiative will be repeated on Thursday alternately from 9.00 in the morning and the seats will be installed in the bay of Los Cristianos.
“With this initiative we want to promote not only the farmer’s market, which opens on Saturday and Sunday in Valle San Lorenzo, but also to promote the local product among the population”, emphasizes the councilor for economic promotion, Dácil León, who stressed the importance of connecting the local primary sector to tourism.
The proposal is included in one the strategic points promoted by the government group led by the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, including sustainability occupies a primordial position, a sustainability that goes on to encourage local production, generating wealth among the residents of the municipality and decreasing the impact of the carbon footprint.
“Another of the objectives for which this activity has been launched focuses on the loyalty of customers, carrying out various initiatives that make our market a meeting point,” said the mayor.
