The public space will remain closed from July 11 to 31 for inventory work and cataloging of new copies
The public library Tomás de Iriarte, of Puerto de la Cruz, will incorporate more than 250 new titles into its collection during the coming months. The 2017 María Moliner Reading Animation Campaign program, promoted by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain, in addition to the annual subsidy from the Cabildo de Tenerife, allow the portuense library, coordinated by the Councilor for Culture of the northern municipality, Sandra Rodríguez, significantly improve its bibliographic endowment.
The Maria Moliner Reading Animation Campaign is aimed at municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants. Puerto de la Cruz opted for the awards with its 'Invade our space with AMOR' project, with which they fostered loyalty in the visits of the users of the library, encouraging them to feel these public facilities as their own, as a meeting place and solidarity.
The project promoted by the technicians and responsible for culture of Puerto de la Cruz, among other actions, included school visits and storytelling sessions. The portuense municipality, being among the 300 best in Spain, received an amount of 1,700 euros to acquire new material.
