12 Jul Los Cristianos, Tenerife's capital of jazz
The town of Los Cristianos will become from tomorrow and until next Saturday in the Tenerife's capital of jazz, hosting a total of thirteen concerts, different masterclass and workshops that make up the offer of the Red Jazz Festival, an activity that falls within the ARN Festival Urban Culture, unavoidable appointment with the culture during the month of April in the municipality of Arona and that is organized in a transversal way by the municipal areas of Economic Promotion, Heritage, Youth and Tourism.
Located in the Plaza de La Pescadora, outdoors and free of charge, this event aims to not only commercially boost one of the main tourist centers of Arona, but also to offer neighbors and visitors a public program of quality leisure complementary to the traditional product of sun and beach.
The Red Jazz Festival, which celebrates its third edition this year, will start tomorrow, Thursday, April 19, at 8:00 pm, and will add a total of 13 concerts with different styles, such as swing, acid jazz, funk, smooth jazz, blues, flamenco jazz, bossa nova and fusion. In addition to the concerts, there will be dance workshops, music therapy and singing and masterclasses of saxophone, stringed instruments and percussion.
The initiative is organized by the Cultural Association for the Dissemination of the Arts and Music of the Canary Islands, the Telluric Cultural Association and the City of Arona, with the collaboration of the Fundación Carrera por La Vida and AMAE Los Cristianos, among others.
The festival was conceived as a means to consolidate the extreme and diverse musical talent available in Tenerife, offering it to residents and visitors. Its medium-term objective is to turn the south of Tenerife into the European capital of jazz.
