Arona, Monday, June 4, 2018 – ARN Culture Pride has been consecrated during its second edition as one of the main festivals dedicated to culture, under an LGTBIQ prism, from all over the world, beating record attendance, with more than 17,000 people, making available an interesting and valuable offer of workshops, debates, talks and conferences, always with an open and free character.

With an attendance of more than fifteen thousand people at the weekend concerts and more than two thousand at the conferences, the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, stressed that "we have achieved something that is not usual, making available all over the world a cultural offer of very high level, free of charge, with an important positive economic impact for the municipality and associating our name with quality ".

Mena added that "this festival shows that values ​​and things well done have enough power of attraction and help us position Arona nationally and internationally at the top, known for its leisure offer open to everyone . It's good news for Arona, "he added.

For its part, the Councilor for Tourism of Arona, David Pérez, whose area promotes RNA Culture Pride, for a week we have made available to the residents of Arona, the whole of the Canaries and our tourists, the most outstanding figures of the sport, music, culture or fashion, always free of charge and with free admission ".

Perez pointed out that "this new strategy of betting on a public offer of complementary quality leisure gives results, as has been seen, so we expect very good data when we know the figures of the economic audit we will receive in coming weeks "

The first edition of the festival, audited by the consulting firm Deloitte, generated an economic activity of 1.66 million euros, 97% of which stayed in Tenerife. The maintenance of 61 jobs and tax benefits for the public coffers of the different administrations exceeded 150,000 euros.

After a week of conferences, networking, parties and music, this event once again positions itself as one of the most important prides in the world, thanks to its alternative proposal to the celebrations of other countries.

He ARN Music Festival has put the finishing touch to this second edition with two days of free access to the beach festival. After the Saturday edition where they were GusGus, Alaska and Mario, Surma and The Tripletz, arrived on Sunday that came with important headliners nationally and internationally.

The first ones to warm up the atmosphere were the Argentines Chocolate Remix, a lesbian and feminist reggaeton group with no hairs on the tongue that turned the audience upside down. Later, the guys from IZAL appeared on stage, who came to present their new album 'Autoterapia' and also sang their most famous hits like 'Copacabana' or 'El baile'. The most emotional moment was when the organization took a cake by surprise to congratulate the birthday to Mikel Izal, who was serving 36 springs on the stage of Arona. The last performance was in charge of Rudimental DJ, one of the most influential British groups of electronic music were willing to present their latest album 'These Days' with which they are sweeping in all the charts of several countries. The DJs Encarna and Olvido were the ones in charge of entertaining the changes between groups so that the party would not decay at any time.

Thousands of people gathered at the Playa de las Américas to say goodbye to what has been seven days of LGTBIQ activities uninterrupted. Infinity of personalities related to the group have participated and did not want to miss this appointment that have become a benchmark of the municipality of Arona. An event with an innovative, integrating and diverse character addressed to the LGTBIQ public more demanding and committed.
